NEW YORK - American rapper Offset was injured in a shooting outside a casino in Hollywood, Florida on April 6, his representative said.
The Seminole Police Department said in a statement that a shooting occurred after 7pm in the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Two people were detained and a third person sustained non-life-threatening injuries, it said.
The police did not identify any of the three people. But Ms Nathalie Moar, a spokeswoman for Offset, said in an email that he was the injured person. He was in stable condition at a hospital, she said.
The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately clear. The police said they were investigating.
Offset is the stage name of Kiari Kendrell Cephus, 34, a rapper who rose to prominence as part of Migos, a chart-topping trio that defined a new era of Atlanta rap.
He was previously married to American rapper Cardi B, 33, with whom he shares three children aged one to seven.
In 2022, another member of Migos, rapper Takeoff, was shot dead outside a bowling alley in Houston. The police said Takeoff had been a bystander at a private party where an argument led to gunfire.
A man, Patrick Xavier Clark, was later arrested in Houston and charged with his murder. He is set to face trial later in 2026. NYTIMES
