British rock band Coldplay recently played at Hong Kong’s new Kai Tak Stadium on April 8, 9, 11 and 12, attracting almost 200,000 fans over four nights.

The Hong Kong leg was part of the group’s ongoing Music Of The Spheres World Tour, which stopped at the United Arab Emirates and India in January. They will next perform in South Korea for six nights from April 16.

Coldplay sold out Singapore’s National Stadium for six nights in January 2024.

Among the Hong Kong celebrities who attended the final night of the Hong Kong concerts were actors Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Carina Lau, former actress Gigi Lai and actress Samantha Ko.

Lau, 59, posted a photo of herself with Leung, 62, at the gig on April 12, with the caption: “#musicofthespheresworldtour @coldplay”.

There was also a photo of the celebrity couple with Hong Kong production designer William Chang.

Lai, 53, posted several photos of herself with a friend, writing: “Believe in love, if you want love, be love.”

In her post, Ko, 38, revealed she almost missed the show.

She wrote in Chinese: “I wanted to fly to another place to see the show, but the timing was not right. I could not buy any tickets to the Hong Kong show as it was too late. I initially thought I would not be able to watch it in Hong Kong, but then my friend asked me if I had time to watch it together.”

The Queen Of News (2023) star added in English: “I felt like I’m just so lucky.”

Meanwhile, Hong Kong singer-actress Charlene Choi posted on April 10 several photos of herself attending Coldplay’s earlier concert with fellow singer Joey Yung.

“A night filled with laughter, good vibes and great people,” Choi, 42, wrote in English.

Other celebrities who turned up to watch the music group included former actress Maggie Cheung, singer Kenny Bee, actor Simon Yam and his wife, model Qi Qi.
