Johor Zoo’s night zoo

We all know and love the Night Safari Singapore, but if you’re looking for something similar with cheaper ticket prices, you might want to check out Johor Zoo, located just across the Causeway.

It has recently opened its doors to its night zoo experience, where visitors will get a glimpse into the life of nocturnal animals and catch the daytime ones snoozing. And if you lament the daytime heat but love animals, the night zoo offers cooler temperatures and a whole different vibe as you see what your favourite creatures get up to after dark.

JB’s oldest zoo, the Johor Zoo, has been in business since 1928. Following renovations, the zoo reopened its doors in August 2024 with upgraded facilities, more animals, and disability-friendly walkways.

Home to 503 animals from 93 species, the zoo now welcomes visitors for their newly introduced nighttime experience, where you’ll get to spot over 35 species, including capybaras and elephants. There are even live feeding sessions for you to catch the animals in action instead of just snoozing.
