In Vietnam’s central Da Nang City, a 41-year-old woman has been arrested and is being investigated for allegedly plotting her husband’s murder. Police say she persuaded his two teenage sons to carry out the attack in a case linked to family conflict and property disputes.
The suspect, identified as Nguyen Thi Kim Sau, is accused of convincing the boys that their father intended to leave family assets to another child from a different relationship. Authorities say this created tension inside the household and led to the deadly plan.
Family Background and Allegations
Police reported that Sau married the victim, Nguyen Chien Thang, last year. The victim had two sons from a previous marriage, including a 19-year-old elder son and a 14-year-old younger son. Investigators allege that Sau repeatedly spoke to the boys about inheritance issues. She is said to have promised them control over property if they followed her instructions. Authorities believe she also assured support for the elder son after any prison sentence.
Planned Attack
According to police findings, Sau worked with the two sons to plan the killing in detail. The alleged plan involved an argument at home on the night of February 23. The sons were also expected to be away earlier that evening at an internet café before returning later.
