PARIS – National sailor Ryan Lo is seventh in the men’s dinghy event after the first day of racing at the Paris Olympics on Aug 1.
The 27-year-old has 23 net points after placing 15th and eighth in the first and second races respectively at the Marseille Marina. Peru’s Stefano Peschiera leads the 43-sailor fleet with seven net points, while defending champion Matthew Wearn (14) from Australia is second.
Eight more races are scheduled before the top 10 sailors in the opening series progress to the medal race, which will be held on Aug 6.
Lo, who made his Olympic debut in Tokyo three years ago, and kitefoiler Maximilian Maeder are Singapore’s two sailing representatives at the Paris Olympics.
