PokéPark Kanto in Yomiuriland
Time to load up on Pokéballs, ’cos you’ll wanna catch ’em all at Pokémon’s first ever permanent theme park, PokéPark Kanto, opening in Japan early next year. The new park is set to take up a 26,000 sqm space within one of Tokyo’s largest theme parks, Yomiuriland. Here’s what we know so far.
What is PokéPark Kanto?
Most of us know Kanto as a region in Japan, but it’s also a big deal in the Pokémon universe, being the game’s first region to be introduced back in its OG edition in the 90s. As such, it’s pretty much the perfect place to house the franchise’s first theme park.

The park, nestled in Tama Hills, will comprise 2 main zones: Sedge Town and Pokémon Forest. And the best part? Ash Ketchums in-the-making can look forward to spotting over 600 Pokémon sprawled all around the park’s forest area.
