Pawan Kalyan shares update on his son Mark Shankar's health.
Actor and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, shared an update on the health of his youngest son, Mark Shankar Pavanovich, on Tuesday evening. Eight-year-old Mark suffered injuries to his hands and legs in a fire that took place at his school in Singapore. He also developed breathing complications as he had inhaled smoke.
A part of Pawan’s statement released on Tuesday evening read, “Our youngest son, Mark Shankar, was injured in a school fire in Singapore and is being treated in hospital. He is gradually recovering.”
The actor-politician also revealed that upon hearing the news, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called him to inquire about his son’s health, which “gave him courage.” The High Commissioner was instructed to provide assistance in Singapore, and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also spoke with him over the phone.
“Mark Shankar is gradually recovering due to these good-hearted wishes and blessings. I sincerely thank everyone,” the statement concluded.

Earlier in the day, Pawan Kalyan had told reporters, “The incident occurred during a summer camp in Singapore, where a fire broke out, injuring several children. One child died (in the incident). My son has burns on his hands and thighs. He has to undergo a bronchoscopy. The smoke inhalation will likely have long-term effects.”
Kalyan added that he would be leaving for Singapore tonight to visit his eight-year-old son.
