Opus Major has raised $10 million in funding to build a global game studio dedicated to crafting games and entertainment where the power of music brings people together.
Backed by Griffin Gaming Partners, the round also included early investor Alven. Opus Major is embarking on its journey to create its first opus: a multiplayer adventure where music becomes magic.
“Our mission at Opus Major is to make the world jam together. We have experienced countless joyful memories while playing music and video games with friends,” said founders Jean-Nicolas Vernin and Pierre-Armand Nicq, in a statement. “Our original spark came from a simple idea: can we bring them both together and build a great social adventure where music is magic? A multiplayer game where you could form a band of heroes with your friends and save the world through the power of music? We decided to build our first opus to fulfill this mission. We have been working hard with our team of jammers to offer a first glimpse of our universe in 2025.”
The company believes music and video games are natural social amplifiers. They bring people together through their own language and interactions. Music bands and video game guilds strengthen players’ bonds, sometimes leading to lifelong friendships.
