Mystery of burning road dividers on PIE stretch solved after two years

SINGAPORE - A mysterious surge in the number of fires along a stretch of the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) in 2019 had puzzled the authorities, who spent two years getting to the literal root of the problem.

Of the 213 road divider vegetation fires that year, 51 per cent happened along the 6.5km stretch between the Eng Neo Avenue and Central Expressway exits of the PIE.
