SINGAPORE – A motorcyclist was taken to hospital after an accident on the BKE near the Woodlands Checkpoint just after midnight on June 14.

This was the latest in a spate of accidents near the checkpoint in recent months.

The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force said they were alerted to the accident involving a motorcycle and a car on the BKE towards Woodlands Checkpoint at about 12.10am.

The motorcyclist, a 27-year-old man, was conscious when taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, they added.

Images on Facebook show a yellow Singapore-registered Aion sport utility vehicle with its left rear side badly damaged.

A Malaysia-registered motorcycle lying on its side behind the car appears wrecked, with its parts scattered across the road.

Another image shows a person lying on the ground as other motorists tend to him.

Police investigations are ongoing.

On May 26, two male motorcyclists in their 20s were taken to hospital after they were involved in an accident at around 8am, also on the BKE towards the PIE.

This came two days after four people were taken to hospital following an early morning collision between a car and a Causeway Link bus at Woodlands Checkpoint on May 24.

On April 5, a motorcyclist was taken to hospital after an accident with a car on the BKE towards Woodlands Checkpoint at around 4pm.
