SEOUL – South Korean singers Irene and Seulgi of K-pop girl group Red Velvet will launch a concert tour in Asia in mid-June, the quintet’s label SM Entertainment announced on April 14.
The duo will kick off the Balance tour in Seoul on June 14 and 15 before travelling to six other cities in the region from July to September. It will be their first such event as the sub-unit Red Velvet – Irene & Seulgi.
Irene, 34, and Seulgi, 31, will stage their Singapore show at The Star Theatre on July 4. Ticketing details have not been announced.
They will then go to Macau, Bangkok, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo.
The sub-unit are poised to return in May with an EP, about five years after their first mini album Monster (2020).
Seulgi dropped her second solo EP, Accidentally On Purpose, in March, while Irene released her first solo EP, Like A Flower, in November 2024.
Red Velvet celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2024 with the EP Cosmic. Released in June 2024, it topped the iTunes Top Albums Chart in 50 regions. THE KOREA HERALD/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
