SINGAPORE - A fire broke out at a warehouse at 23 Gul Drive early on April 16.

In a Facebook post on the same day, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to a fire at the address at about 6.15am.

SCDF personnel used water jets and an unmanned firefighting machine to extinguish the fire within an hour

although damping down operations are being carried out at the affected area.

It explained that damping down refers to the application of water to wet burnt surfaces to prevent any reignition of materials.

The fire involved waste materials stored at the warehouse, measuring about 20m by 40m, said the SCDF.

There were no reported injuries, with the cause of the fire under investigation.

The warehouse at the same address had similarly caught fire nearly three years ago, when about 50 SCDF firefighters used water and foam jets to put out a fire at the premises. No injuries were reported during the June 2022 incident.

The Straits Times is contacting the SCDF for more information.
