Chinese carmaker BYD continues to expand its product line-up here with the Seal 6 EV. The four-door saloon is not a replacement for the Seal, but a separate model with its own design.
As with the majority of BYD models offered in Singapore, the car is tuned to qualify for the Category A certificate of entitlement (COE) with its 95kW power output.
The 56.7kWh battery gives the car an operating range of 425km.
At 4,720mm long, the Seal 6 is larger than conventional petrol-engined models like the Toyota Corolla Altis (4,630mm) and Honda Civic (4,681mm).
After discounts, the Seal 6, which is priced at $254,888 with COE, can be purchased for $179,888 with COE.

The Mercedes-Maybach SL680 Monogram Series, the first two-seater from Mercedes-Benz’s luxury arm, is in Singapore. This is also the sportiest Maybach yet, joining the local line-up that consists of a four-door limousine and two sport utility vehicles.
The car is based on the Mercedes-AMG SL63 Roadster, with the same twin-turbo 4-litre V8 that makes 585hp and 800Nm of torque. However, the Maybach version, said to be tuned to have more comfort bias, takes 4.1 seconds to get from 0 to 100kmh, compared with the SL63’s 3.6 seconds.
