The Singapore Film Society (SFS) announces the launch of the local theatrical run of the Chinese tea documentary Miraculous Leaf. Produced by Suzhou Front Media Co., Ltd. , the film held its global premiere at the National Gallery Singapore last month, followed by a well-received “China–Singapore Tea Culture Exchange” event. The tea appreciation event featured several Chinese and Singaporean tea masters, who presented their prized tea-making traditions to an audience of invited VIP guests.
Mr. Kenneth Tan, Chairman of the Singapore Film Society, commented: “Miraculous Leaf uses tea as a cultural bridge to reconnect shared heritage across regions. It is both an honour to host its global premiere and to present such an outstanding documentary for long-term public screening at SFS’s own venue at SFS Somerset. Singapore places strong emphasis on the potential of documentary filmmaking within its media and cultural development strategies, as our educational values and public ethos have long upheld a commitment to authenticity and truth. I firmly believe that Miraculous Leaf will serve as a catalyst for the advancement of media production in Singapore, benefiting both industry practitioners and audiences alike.”
