SINGAPORE – Behold, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the first made-in-Singapore electric car – at least that is what its maker likes to call it.

Strictly speaking, it would be more accurate to describe the electric vehicle as being “assembled” here. The factory in Bulim Link in the western part of Singapore does not press body panels from flat sheets or cast structures with molten metal.
