COLOMBIA: Thousands of BTS fans gathered in Bogotá on Friday as the South Korean group prepared for its first concerts in Colombia.

Fans known as ARMY filled the area around Nemesio Camacho El Campín stadium ahead of the group’s Arirang world tour.

The Bogotá concerts are scheduled for October 2 and 3, with more than 100,000 people expected to attend across both dates.

ARMY Turns Bogotá Purple

Fans of different ages gathered outside the stadium, exchanging “freebies” — small gifts prepared and shared by fans during BTS events.

Many also arrived wearing outfits inspired by the group and its latest album.

One fan, Say, said she had followed BTS since she was 12 and described seeing the group in Colombia as a dream come true.

Other fans used their outfits to combine Colombian and South Korean culture.

Rabe wore a dress inspired by the Korean countryside and Colombian cumbia, which was made by her grandmother.

Fans from Colombia and beyond turn Bogotá purple for BTS’s historic debut.

Fans Travel For BTS

The excitement also brought fans from outside Colombia.

Emily Ramos travelled from Venezuela and said BTS had become a source of hope for her and many others.

She said the group’s music and influence had inspired fans to make the journey despite the challenges involved.

For fans who could not get tickets, the stadium still became a meeting point.

Some gathered outside to listen to the music and share the concert atmosphere with other ARMY.

Bogotá Welcomes BTS

The Bogotá mayor’s office declared all seven BTS members — RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook — guests of honour.

Several iconic buildings across the city were also illuminated in purple, a colour strongly associated with BTS and its fandom.

The two Bogotá dates mark the group’s first performances in Colombia, bringing thousands of fans together for a major moment in the country’s K-pop scene.
