SINGAPORE – With Nov 11 around the corner, the travel and tourism sector is joining e-commerce giants gearing up for their annual mega sales. From this week, companies are rolling out offers on airfares, hotel stays and attractions.
For instance, Hong Kong carrier Cathay Pacific is offering $111 off flights to its destinations. Travellers can use the promo code SG111OFF during the airline’s 11.11 campaign from Nov 7 to 16. Redemptions are limited to the first 360 bookings. These are valid for travel between Jan 1, 2026 and June 30, 2026, with a minimum of $900 spent.
“11.11 has evolved beyond impulse shopping to become a goalpost for forward planning and purposeful spending,” says Mr Jonathan Ng, the airline’s regional head of customer travel and lifestyle for South-east Asia and Oceania. “As travellers increasingly prioritise experiences, the 11.11 sale is a key touchpoint for those planning family reunions or milestone trips.”
Chinese travel booking platform Trip.com will have $111 discounts off flights and hotels during its campaign from Nov 11 to 14, as well as hourly flash sales on Nov 11. It describes its 11.11 promotion as “the biggest online sale of the year”.
With China emerging as a popular destination for Singapore travellers, its focus is on tailoring deals for the Singapore market. “We are actively sourcing for and incorporating more attractive deals for hotels in China, as well as package tours for Singaporeans who are looking to travel to key destinations in China,” says Mr Edmund Ong, general manager of Trip.com Singapore.
