A father and his young son survived a frightening moment at a railway station in Bangladesh after both fell onto the tracks as a train was moving away. The man quickly protected his child by covering him with his own body while the train passed over them.

The incident happened when the family was traveling on the Titas commuter train from Brahmanbaria to Bhairab. Reports said the train arrived at the station about one and a half hours late. As it started moving again, the father tried to get off while holding his child.
During this moment, the child slipped from his hands and fell into the narrow space between the train and the platform. Within a few seconds the situation was already dangerous, as the train was already moving.
Quick action saves lives
