86 Lor Mee is located at stall number 86, as its name suggests, in the ever-so-crowded Golden Mile Food Centre. Helmed by a Vietnamese lady and her husband, this stall puts a modern twist on the traditional Lor Mee, almost like a fusion-style.

Rather than the typical toppings of fish flakes and Ngoh Hiang, their noodles come with Ebi Tempura, Fried Fish, Chicken Cutlets and more.

Looking to enjoy the best of all worlds? Yes, not just both. All. Indulge in their Signature Lor Mee ($6/$7) that comes with portions of all the fried items they offer. The freshly fried toppings came served on a separate plate to prevent them from getting soggy because of the gravy. But I decided to place everything in the bowl for the gram after collecting my order.

The fried items – Ebi Tempura, Battered Fried Fish, Ngoh Hiang, Fried Wontons and a slice of Chicken Cutlet – were perfectly crisp on the outside and well cooked on the inside. In fact, the thick gravy acted as a rather pleasant dip to accompany the ingredients.
