New restaurants in Singapore this December

We’ve officially reached the last month of the year. Before we head into the holiday season, check out these best new restaurants and cafes in Singapore in December 2024. From a famous Malaysian cafe to a rainforest-themed restaurant, this list will be handy for your year-end gatherings!

1. Oriental Kopi

Oriental Kopi needs no introduction. The popular chain has more than 10 outlets in Malaysia, and they recently opened an outlet in Singapore at Bugis Junction, which marks their first overseas venture. They specialise in Nanyang cuisine with breakfast, lunch, and dinner items aplenty for you to choose from.

Our favourite of the lot was the Oriental Signature Nasi Lemak ($9.50++), featuring a mouth-watering combination of fried chicken, an egg, steamed rice, a dollop of sambal sauce, crispy ikan bilis, fried peanuts, and sliced cucumber. If you love a good traditional breakfast, we recommend the Double Butter Kaya Toast ($2.60++) alongside a cup of their Oriental Kopi (from $1.80++). The toast was crispy and tasted even better when paired with the mildly sweet coconutty Hainanese kaya spread and two slabs of cold butter. You’ll also enjoy their kopi if you appreciate a creamy consistency without the flavours being too intense or “gao”.
